Florida’s six-week abortion ban is now ready for a floor vote in the state Senate, which is expected next week. It comes after a marathon committee meeting in Tallahassee Tuesday. For about four hours, public speaker after speaker offered tears and fears supporting and challenging the proposed change to the state’s current 15-week ban. If signed by the governor, SB 300 would cut abortion access in Florida to six weeks, with exceptions for rape, incest, and fatal fetal conditions.
