Chauvin’s knee was never off Floyd’s neck: Expert▼
An expert witness in the use of force has testified at the trial of the United States former police officer who is facing charges of murder and manslaughter in the killing a Black American man, George Floyd. Los Angeles Sergeant Jody Stiger said officer Derek Chauvin used inappropriate "deadly force" when kneeling on Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes. He added that the pressure from Chauvin's body weight could cause a form of asphyxia. The nearly two-week trial is nearing a turning point when the defence will begin to argue Floyd’s death was caused by drug use and a heart condition. Al Jazeera’s Alan Fisher reports from Minneapolis, the US. Source
