Afghanistan to swap Taliban leaders for western professors▼
American Kevin King and Australian Timothy Weeks were kidnapped outside the American University in Kabul three years ago.
The Taliban prisoners include Anas Haqqani, the older brother of the group's deputy leader, seized in 2014.
President Ashraf Ghani says the decision was made in the "interests of the Afghan people".
